Diversions: TIN MAN!

In New Zealand, there is an art gallery I used to visit every time I went to Sumner beach. I am well known for visiting museums at the beach because 1) the sun makes my head explode and 2) I have intense travel agendas that mean that once you have actually visited the place (beach) you should move on to the next place (gallery). (I once told my friend R, in a self-depreciating kind of way, that I was "on my high horse on that vacation" and instead of saying, "No, no, we all understand your idiosyncrasies," she actually nodded emphatically and rolled her eyes). So anyway, it was at Sumner beach that I discovered Tin Man:

The best, non? He is the creation of Tony Cribb. I just love how he (Tin Man) stares at you in utter disbelief, like, I can't believe that I am the subject of this painting. Each small square of interesting space makes me smile to myself and think about the beach I scarcely visited.
